BIOGRAPHY
Professional Experience & Goals
During the last three years I have been working within the research and development department designing and building a range of dynamic web based internal company systems using PHP, MySQL and AJAX. My role in the department made me responsible for the architecture, design, maintenance and ongoing development of the systems.
During the past year I have been redesigning the range of systems as J2EE enterprise applications running on IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.1 using some of the latest technologies such as Hibernate/JPA, Spring, EJB3 and Web Services (JAX-WS). I am familiar with the complete project life cycle and the needs of teams within each phase. I have experience communicating with clients and understanding their needs.

Software Engineer |
Erebor ltd |
Trowbridge |
As the lead PHP, MySQL & AJAX developer for the research and development department within Erebor Ltd, I was responsible for the complete development of a range of internal company projects, from liaising with business analysts and clients to final deployment and documentation. The projects followed best practise such as source code versioning and test-driven development.
Erebor Ltd is IBM’s leading WebSphere Business Integration focused partner in the UK. While there I developed a range of internal web based systems to streamline company processes including, sales processing, holiday booking, recruitment and asset management. The systems were developed using a prototyping / RAD methodology with continual communication to ensure specifications were being met through every stage of the project. During past two years I have be re-developing the process management systems as J2EE applications on the WebSphere Application Server environment. The application’s development incorporated an array of technologies including Hibernate/JPA, Web Services (JAX-RPC), EJB2.1/EJB3 and JSP/JSF.
This role greatly strengthened my web, SQL and communicational skills. I also gained experience developing J2EE applications using the IBM rational product set, running on the IBM WebSphere application server platform in conjunction with IBM DB2 and MS Active Directory for authentication. I was also involved in some minor projects with the service delivery department and attended various training courses including business process modelling and application server architecture.
